Welcome to Parker's Promise

Parker's Promise (501c3) was founded by teenager DeVito Parker Jr. in 2020 with the help of his mother Evette Parker. DeVito noticed that the youth in his community doesn't really have anything to do for fun that is safe. He also noticed that there are not many places teens can go for guidance or mentorship in the things that they are really interested in. DeVito had his first event at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. DeVito had someone show the young men gentlemen etiquette, how to change a flat tire and he also had speakers from juvenile detention. DeVito also had some youth speaker speak on child illnesses such as juvenile diabetes. He even had someone come show them how to make music and create beats. The feedback from the event was really good because these are the things that the youth in his community are interested in. DeVito feels it is important to be relatable to the youth in order for them to receive the advice. DeVito is a successful young man in school and in his career, he understands that a lot of youth does not have the same type of support that he has. He wants to be that extra support system in the community.

Parker's Promise has continued to have events over the past 3 years and is looking forward to continuing to serve the community
